Band Biography
“Ozzy The Iraqi” Lead Guitar and Vocals
Yes ladies and gentlemen, on Lead Guitar and Vocals, Shakedown features that funny man from the sands of Baghdad, the Emir of Electrics, the Sultan of Strats, the Imam of the Ibanez, that Phoenician Fenderman himself, “Ozzy The Iraqi.” You’ve no doubt heard Ozzy on WKLH’s Dave and Carole Show, cracking up the hosts with his wry commentaries on life in America as an Iraqi. Yet, you may not have known that Ozzy is one of the best Lead Guitar players around and simply loves playing good old American Rock & Roll. His resume includes the bands Pull Toy, Rock Bottom and Cross Eyed Kitty to name a few. Now living in America’s heartland (Palmyra, WI) Ozzy simply wants to bring a smile to your face while rocking the night away with his Shakedown friends.

Tanya: Lead Vocals
Ah, Tanya! Female vocalist extraordinaire. From Cheap Trick to Tracy Chapman, from Mick Jagger to Shania Twain, Tanya takes it on, sings it out and makes the song her own. Her experience with the band Soul’d Out only scratched the surface of Tanya’s talent and Shakedown brings it to the forefront. The lady brings soul, intelligence, grace and style to the songs all while bringing an in your face rock solid attitude that landed a career highlight performance at the House of Blues in Las Vegas! Bottom line, Tanya Rocks!

Fred: Bass Guitar and Vocals
Fred started playing Bass Guitar rather late in life. At least, when compared to other Bass players. The fact is he didn't touch a Bass Guitar until he was more than 22 years old. (No, that does not make him the oldest member of Shakedown even if the gray hair shows through). However, once he picked up his original 1963 Fender Precision Bass, there was no going back. He’s played in such bands as The Spring City Rockers, The Schneebs, Mostly Water, Gimmick, The Willies, The Mad Cows and was a founding member of Waukesha Wisconsin's Four30Nine. He’s also the current Bass Player for Rip Snortin’ and The Prime Cuts. Fred’s favorite quote, "Without music, life would be a mistake" – Neitszche

Bruce: Lead Guitar and Vocals
Immediately after high school, Bruce played in the bands Mark Blue and High Voltage. Then at the relatively young age of 21 years, Bruce put the band business on the back burner, raised a family, raced at the Hales Corners Speedway and worked his rear off. Bruce did not touch a guitar for 27 years! Thankfully, at a more mature age his interest in music was rekindled by none other than his family. It’s difficult to say whether it is a blessing or a curse when every other person in the house is a musician. Simply stated, Bruce had more to say with his music and was not about to be left behind. Watch out when he turns into his alter-ego Rock Star - Tommy Tsunami! Bruce's son Jeff is in the classic rock band Fat Bottom Special, and his daughter Mary is in The Invaders, a Ska Band. His other daughter and wife both enjoy music as a hobby, but are smart enough not to be in a band.

Mike: Drums
Although he’s officially the youngest member of the band, (and unofficially as well) Mike has been around the block a few times playing in metal and indie bands such as Miasma, Loves Despair and Forever And A Day. Not only does this guy love to rock, but he voluntarily served in the US Army from March 2004 until November 2007 and has even done time in Ozzy’s home country Iraq. Having recently been released from the service and with a motivation to play music for people, Mike decided to hook up with Shakedown.
